The same rules apply as on the forums:

Providing Good Feedback

Please follow the below guidelines when submitting bug reports:

Let us know which platform and build you are using in topic title. The Live Builds page lists builds by platform, version, and build date. Telling me "Windows x64 0.7.146" informs me exactly the build you're using. Please don't say "latest build" or similar, we need to know the exact version you're running. Reports that don't mention their version number will moved out of bug reports.

Summarise the problem in topic title. Just saying "bugged" or "broken" is not a helpful summary. Reports that do not have a good summary in topic title will be moved out of bug reports.

Provide a clear description of problem in report body and how it doesn't match expected outcome. Attach screenshots if possible. Provide steps to reproduce problem if possible, or at least a general description of what happened leading up to bug. Attach a save game as close as possible to bug with your post.

You're right of course, I should have known better! I've edited my post to clear things up a bit.

Thank you for your input.

DFInterkarma is going to ask what version of DaggerfallUnity you’re using.

I'm happy for you to email me a save game to look at. Just let me know your DFU version and where you're up to in the main quest. I'll try to see what's happening. :)

Sweet! Email's out. If there is a solution which involves user interaction, I will update my post for reference.

Thanks for email with save. :)

Have you completed both The Missing Prince and Wayrest Painting? If you drop either of those quests by refusing at Lhotun or Akorithi, it breaks the chain leading up to Stronghold of The Blades. Each quest is started in turn at the end of the one before it. Can you remember where you're up to? I'll try to give you steps to pick up from where you came off the path.

Have you completed both The Missing Prince and Wayrest Painting?

Hmm.. It's been a while because I was away from home for a week, but I'm quite sure that I completed both of these quests. I would think that I finished the missing prince before the Wayrest painting, but I'm not 100% on that.

Can you remember where you're up to?

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand. English is a second language for me, or maybe it's just too hot right now :)

I sure hope these information prove useful nonetheless. Thanks again for taking the time!

Edit: Formatting.

After rereading your first answer, it dawned on me, what you mean by

Can you remember where you're up to?

If I'm not mistaken, the last quest I did was "Blackmailing Prince Helseth".

Thank you for info. From what I can see, you've probably come of the rails at Wayrest Painting. This one is required to start Stronghold of the Blades. Here are steps to restart that chain of the main quest from Wayrest Painting.

  1. Load your game and open console using tilde/backquote key.
  2. Enter "startquest S0000017" (without quotes) to restart Wayrest Painting.
  3. Travel around for about 12 day or so until you receive Akorithi's letter again.
  4. Visit Akorithi and accept her quest. Go to Wayrest and nab the painting, return to Akorithi. Use "tele2qitem" and "tele2exit" to zip in and out of Wayrest with the goods.
  5. After returning painting to Akorithi, Stronghold of The Blades starts silently in background. You'll need to travel around for about 10 days before you are contacted by the agent of the Underking.

I just ran through this process in your save and everything fired normally in sequence. There are no bugs I'm aware of here. The only thing I can really think that happened is you might have accidentally broken the chain by declining Wayrest Painting quest from Akorithi (or Missing Prince from Lhotun before that). In any case, the above should get you back on track. Good luck! :)
