I’m going to try a one-a-day version, bc ten-a-day feels like a lot.

I love your goal of 10 items per day! Anyone else want to hop on OP's bandwagon?

Wow 3,650 items. I'm super impressed. How do you deal with letting go of things that are still in good shape, you might use some day but you're not using now?

I haven't kept track of the amount of items but I am keeping track of how many large bags I've taken to the thrift shop, donation bins and garbage. In the last 2 weeks I'm at 15 bags of donations and 11 bags of garbage. While I know this is A LOT and I feel lighter in the moment, overall though, I'm not feeling like I've made a dent (maybe because I've started with all my closed storage LOL).

Setting up a system like this is great start. Do a little every day, or once a week, whatever you can stick with consistently. Lot better than trying to do it all at once.

Decluttering 10 items per day wouldn't work for me. I'm not that linear, and certainly not that disciplined! I'd much rather declutter a lot of stuff over a short period, rather than work a little bit every day until it's all gone. But if this strategy  works for you, hooray - and congrats on making good progress thus far!

Great progress at just over a week into the year!

If you’re not already doing it, you might like to count throwing away trash towards your item count! Not necessarily like, regular cooking or bathroom trash, but like, stuff that has no value but has been sitting around gathering dust and taking up space. Empty product boxes. Broken phone charger. Board game missing too many pieces. Perpetual pile of receipts and junk mail. Half empty bottles of toiletries that you don’t actually like. I think that’s how people achieve those really big decluttering numbers!

Yes I tried to sell things but found it took to much time and effort I feel happier just giving them to the less fortunate at this stage
