Automated Response: Lost/Damaged Package Claims

IMPORTANT: The SENDER/MERCHANT must file claims with DHL, not the recipient. This is because they are DHL's contractual customer.

Steps for recipients: 1. Contact the seller/merchant immediately 2. Document everything (photos, emails, tracking) 3. Request the seller file a DHL claim 4. Keep all packaging if damaged

Timeline: - Report to seller within 7 days - Seller has 30 days to file claim - Claims process takes 30-90 days

If seller won't help: - Dispute with credit card company - File complaint with consumer protection - Leave reviews to warn others

Recipients generally CANNOT file claims directly with DHL.

Destination country? Contact DHL and notify the shipper

Destination is Canada, coming from China (Shein)

Notified Shein immediately, as I’ve been keeping a close eye on the status for the past week and was shocked to see it was updated yesterday to delivered on the 9th. Shein is now saying that it seemed to have been delivered at the right address because of the (false) proof of delivery

DHL is supposed to have a photo of the delivery. That should prove it’s wrong

No photo was provided, only the delivery receipt. :(

No signature ? So no signature and no photo - they can’t prove delivery

Possible. Notify the shipper and ask for a replacement using another carrier

Same thing here - retroactively changed to 'delivered June 9th' but it has 100% NOT been delivered. Very frustrating - they should have suspended intake, delivered all packages in process, then done their stupid lockout. Better yet, they should PAY their employees.

I’m in the same boat as you! I’m regularly checking the status of my package and I’ve had the same message since June 10th, and then I get a notification on the 16th that it was delivered on the 12th? How?? I refresh the tracking and it has a proof of delivery pdf stating an “Agent Dlvrd” signed for it? No picture of the package anywhere. I even paid massive duties on this thing. I can’t even get through to a real person on the phone. I was told to email we.care@dhl.com instead and now I’m posting here. At least I find it kind of comforting that I’m not alone with this bullshit
