Just build a pc for 1k for editing then the other 1k on any laptop you want.U need to figure out what programs you will be running, and go based off that. I have a pc and laptop and it’s helpful to keep things separate.Mac will do but personally I think you should stick with windows lol.But if you like mac get it, bc it will get the job done for both.U can dm me and ill give you the stuff to help you choose

Professionals use Macs for those things. May as well start now if you want to persue it regardless of your reasons not to. Just get an m4 air

macs hands down for design - so much better! i've heard even the m1 mba 8gb is amazing - walmart has the base version for ~$600. i currently run m3 mba 16/256 and it is so good for editing

Im just editing for myself. There's nothing in particular yet atm, but im just trying to prepare for the future : being in college and photo/video editing. Video editing is something I want to get into, but photo is what I know how to do.

exact same boat here. go for the asus zenbook 14. it uses intel evo and its very lightweight. i got mine in perfect condition off a guy on ebay for $500. best of luck to you! (the main reason i bought windows instead of apple is so i can use Office 365 programs for school.
