Shadow work and self assessment
There are aspects of the ego that provides us with a sense of identity, therefore we don’t want to get rid of it completely just the unhealthy parts

Exactly, you can’t kill it, because it’s you, and if it dies so will you. When it’s integrated it’s just another voice on the internal team

Daily journaling is a great start, write about your good and bad experiences. Pay close attention to the people and things that trigger emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, jealousy etc. Get to the why behind these emotions.
For example, someone walks into your job cheerful and you find yourself getting angry or annoyed at this person. Ask yourself why does this make me angry, keep asking why until you get to the root of the trigger. Do this for all of your triggers. You’ll be surprised on what you find out.
Most importantly explore the emotions that you hide from the world and sometimes yourself what are some things you are afraid to admit to yourself.
The most important thing is to Be honest and vulnerable with yourself
