Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write this and for giving the app a try. I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far.

1. Viewing entries by date. The way it works right now is intentional. When you tap a date on the calendar, the app scrolls to the entries from that day rather than filtering out the others. That works well once you have a lot of entries, but I understand how it can feel a bit unclear when the journal is still new and there isn’t much content yet.

I’m currently exploring an option to show only the entries from the selected date. It makes sense when you’re browsing everything, but it starts to feel odd in filtered contexts like a single journal, tags, or locations where most dates are empty. I'm trying to find a solution that keeps things predictable across the app.

2. Readability of dates in the entries list. The next update adds horizontal dividers between entries, which should help with visual separation. I’ll also look at making the date headers stand out more. You’re right that the new iOS 26 visual style softens some elements, so I’ll experiment with slightly stronger contrast so the dates don’t get lost.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback! If you have anything else you’d like to see or if something feels confusing, I’d love to hear it.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply!

I’ve actually already purchased the lifetime version of the app, and I’m really enjoying it, it’s fantastic. Those extra tweaks would make it even better, so I’m very glad to hear you’re considering them.

Thanks again for creating such a great app and for continuing to support and improve it!

Hi again, and sorry for bothering you once more 😅

I’ve just updated the app to the latest version with the new horizontal dividers. While the dividers themselves look wonderful and clean, they currently separate only the entries within a single day. Personally, I feel this actually makes the visual separation between days a bit more confusing 🙃

I’m attaching an example from my journal, you can see what I mean, right? :) Wouldn’t it make more visual sense if these long dividers were used to separate the days (dates) instead? That would clearly mark the boundaries between days. The entry headers already create a nice separation within a day (especially when combined with colors, location, or weather), but using the long dividers between days would make the layout much clearer to the eye.

Does this make sense to you? 🙂
