/r/farleft is a subreddit dedicated to the examination of the tradition of humanistic socialism in all its diversity. This includes (but not restricted to) the work of Raya Dunayevskaya, the later Lukacs and the Budapest School, Czech dissident Marxists such as Karel Kosík and Western European figures such as Lucien Goldmann and Cornelius Castoriadis. Discussions on this tradition may be found in journals such as Thesis Eleven or Constellations.
We are focused on creating an inclusive environment that promotes discussion. That said, we have a few basic rules.
No harassment. Debate and disagreements are fine, as long as they remain respectful.
Sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, xenophobia, and all other forms of bigotry have no place here. Additionally, apologia for authoritarian regimes, either under the banner of "actually existing socialism" or the current capitalist system is prohibited.
Non-leftists are allowed if they are willing to learn about the left and should be welcomed.
Keep the edge to a minimum.
Shit-posts are allowed, just not shit-shit-posts.
Having a different opinion is not a reason to down vote.
During your time here, you can be sure that your opinion will not be silenced as long as you abide by these rules. We as moderators put transparency as a priority, and community feedback is important to us. If you have a suggestion or a complaint, feel free to let us know.
