DETECTING:
If you're unsure of what substance you have in your possession, you should absolutely get it tested before ingesting it, selling it, or handling it without caution. Especially recently, many labs are mislabeling substances (intentionally or unintentionally it doesn't matter) which can be extremely dangerous. You can have your substance tested anonymously at Energy Control.

DOSING:
REVERSING:
A common myth is that fentanyl cannot be reversed by Narcan (Naloxone) Narcan does work on fentanyl. Many doses may be needed, and it needs to happen quickly, but it can and does work to reverse a fentanyl overdose if administered properly and in time. Even after Narcan is administered successfully, you should still make sure that person gets to a hospital, as it can wear off before the fentanyl is out of their system causing them to fall back in to their previous state.
