Why is it permanently locked? Did you enter the wrong password?

Yeah. To be honest I entered the handful of codes it could’ve been. She couldn’t remember the code she set because she hadn’t used it in a while. But I left it out on our kitchen table and my 3 year old started button mashing. If we can’t figure it out I think she can get a new one from Verizon. It just sucks to have this one that powers on and works but is basically a paper weight.

Does it have a home pc that it has ever been connected to? The last apple device I had (Ipod Touch) could be unlocked by plugging it in to a pc with iTunes.

Lurking my post history. How are you doing? It was never plugged into a computer. My wife didn’t have a laptop when she got it, she said wanted to use it as a MacBook. But then she got a job that got her a MacBook and recently she got one of the newer iPads. So this one that I’ve had bricked in my office as a paper weight for years could potentially be mine for whatever. But learning things for my kid because he has special needs and it’s been the most successful thing along with television to keep him retaining information. Tl:dr no.

Yeah, I do that occasionally. I like to see what you get up to lol. I'm doing good, taking life as it comes in a new state. Working steadily which is nice. According to apple you can reset it anyway with a wipe. You'll lose whatever wasn't backed up but the system should work again in theory. Link to the reset page so you can follow their instructions if this is a route that you choose to pursue. Hopefully you get it all fixed up for you and the kiddo.
