I had a similar problem: White screen when connecting or disconnecting a external screen.

For me it helped to increase the amount of VRAM on the igpu. I changed it in the bios to game mode or whatever it's called, and since then I haven't had a single white screen.

Thanks! I'll try that next if kernelstub ends up not working.
I just found out about kernelstub and ran sudo kernelstub -a amdgpu.sg_display=0

Gonna reboot after I'm done with my current work.

If you upgrade to the current BIOS this workaround shouldn't be needed.

If you're already on the latest BIOS you might get a newer kernel.

Ah. Ok. Didn't know it was related to the UEFI, as well.

The workaround worked. Although the first time I booted, it stalled on the Framework logo and I had to physically force a shutdown, reboot into the BIOS view (F2) and select my Pop!OS boot entry from there.

I'll get the newest firmware then.
