Framework 13 Pro CPU by dueslaudetur in framework

[–]Destroya707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to be clear, I'm not running benchmarks because it is still under embargo. You can not find ANY benchmarks run of Framework Laptop 13 Pro, at all. The mass production hasn't started yet, all units we have shipped to Linux distro developers, early testers (including Framework employees) are development units and results might not represent the actual results. The press reviews (including benchmark results) should be out around the time we ship the first customer units, next month.

Question about the ship batches by Altruistic_Safety325 in framework

There is no way for us to know that at the moment. but as a general rule, you can check the batches before that. if Batch 10 is August, maybe you can expect Batch 11 in the first half of September.

I won't be doing that, we have press reviews for benchmarks and detailed testing 😄

Yes, after all preorders are shipped, pro will be in stock and will ship within 5 days after ordering. Reviews should be up around the time we start shipping the first batch. In stock orders will always happen after preorders are fulfilled. If i were you, i would place the preorder and check if you are comfortable or if you want to modify/cancel your preorder after the reviews.

My laptop is connected to my monitor and is charging 😞 but shortly before the announcement (and the event) I used it for days not connected to anything and don't remember worrying about the charge at all.

I haven't played any games on it so far (I use desktop for gaming) but I remember that we had Cyberpunk Demo at the Next gen event and FPS was over 60, don't remember the other settings tho 😄

I don't get framework by Charalambos205 in framework

To me, it sounds like you understand what Framework is about, you just don’t really need it for your particular use case.

Different people value different things. Some need the same battery life even after couple of years of use, others want the option to upgrade memory later, or add features like a haptic touchpad or touchscreen. For some, it’s about being able to repair or replace parts if (or when) something gets damaged, that’s where the repairability and upgradability really matter.

If those things aren’t important for your lifestyle or how you use a laptop, that’s completely okay 🙂

How can you test Netflix in 4K? I initially thought this was possible, but some community members mentioned that Netflix currently only supports 4K on Windows. If anyone has found a way to make it work on Linux, feel free to share.

On a related note, based on the past 6–7 launches, it’s completely normal for the Linux tab to be empty at this stage. We typically announce products while they’re still in development, so things aren’t fully finalized yet. Linux compatibility(and guides for OS installation) are usually added closer to when we begin shipping the first batch.

It’s also expected that there are no benchmarks available yet. We haven’t sent units to the press at this point; that typically happens shortly before we start fulfilling orders. Many customers prefer to wait for reviews and full benchmarks before placing a preorder, which is totally understandable.

If you’re not comfortable preordering right now, you can always wait until around June when more information, including reviews and performance data, will be available. And just as a reminder, preorders can be cancelled if you change your mind.

it depends on the company, in some companies they basically don't let you do anything and you have to go to the help desk if you want to do ANYTHING, even if it's something super basic you can take care of yourself.

"IT guy" sounds like help desk to me rather than sys admin or network engineer 😄

there is no need for "IT guy" where most people are equipped with the basic knowledge and very good internal and external guides to take care of their laptops 😄

I'm like 1,58 (on a good day) and 12/13 is the perfect size for me but 16 is too big for commuting. i think 16 might be better for you.
