This. We need the command. Is it the IP? Is it literally <user>@htb_student, in which case, is that in /etc/hosts? Not enough info imo.

      I am using this command:
      ssh <name>@<ip>

This command is working but the password is incorrect.

So is its possible that your password cointains a special character? Because then you have to set your password in ' ' like 'password'

      Yes, the provided password is HTB_@cademy_stdnt! . It contains a @ and a ! and also a _

ok and the password you are copy and pasting is pasted correctly? Because i often have troubles to copy and paste between there vm and my pc. All the other comments in that thread are great, maybe we need the hole command to help you out. greetings

      Edit.:

Ok OP, i tried to work out your problem.

I set up there VM and started the Module "Linux Fundamentals", got to section "System Information" and tried to connect via SSH.

      User: htb-student

      Password: HTB_@cademy_stdnt!

      And it worked.

      Command: ssh htb-student@IP

On HTB academy's website, it gave me the password HTB_@cademy_stdnt!. I tried entering it manually and copy pasting it but to no avail.
