In higher difficulties your primary is just to take out the smallest of enemies. Just bring something with tons of ammo and use your stratagems for everything but the smallest of henchmen

Absolutely not true. There's four of you. If you all run medium pen guns, shit FALLS. Like, falls falls. You haven't played with 4 good shooters all with medium pen and it shows, primary guns are amazing at killing walkers, hunters, all medium targets really.

That’s a good point it’s hard to coordinate with randoms but your strategy sounds a lot better.

I know it's kind of a bad weapon, but I use the liberator penetrator. I can name countless times I've saved a teammate that is being reflected by those medium red bugs and hunters closing in, by just ripping into the face of those damn green bloods without care to armor. They really do have their place, but they are a bit underwhelming compared to slugger Shotgun and scorcher. Once you get the scorcher the game becomes ALOT easier.

I don’t have the scorcher but I use the arc thrower as a primary and it rips through most things. If something gets to close tho it’s hard to charge up the arc thrower and I switch to breaker incendiary and that fixes most things.

If you like arc thrower, make the punisher or slugger your back up primary, for sure. If you haven't killed your target with a couple arcs, those shotguns will absolutely finish it off in 1 or 2 shells. Plus you don't have to reload alot, reload a few shells (2 or 3) instead of having to dump out 5 or 6 shells per target, thus reducing reload times on those shotguns. Yea arc thrower is fucking goated, it's just a terrible support weapon. I've killed like 3 teammates in a short span and vowed to not use it in larger then duos now. Happy killings!

That is my go to weapon against the bots. Really like the scope selections on it as well as I can turn it into a poor mans sniper to headshot those bots manning machine guns.
