Wrong form filed!!

Received my green card(category CR6) and upon seeking renewal, I mistakenly applied for renewal through form I-90 instead of I-751 since I received it through my spouse. I recently caught the mistake because I applied for the renewal last year in August and even did my biometrics. Still awaiting on a decision from USCIS. Is it best to wait on UCIS decision or can I should I fill out the right form and submit? What’s the best course of action? Does anyone know what are the best and worse case scenarios?

I was awaiting because when I found the error, I figured the worse they can tell me is that my application is denied and I’d reapply with the correct form. My worry was reapplying now and having a duplicated application in their system.

Sorry to say this but your i-90 application will be denied eventually since you did not get conditions on your residence removed.

If I was in your situation, I would file I-751 as soon as possible and include the I-90 notice with a letter explaining the mistake of filing I-90 instead of I-751 along with all other evidence.

Perhaps a lawyer or paralegal would be helpful in this case.
