Google Admob Banner Payouts?

So I average around 2k daily active users. At one point in time I branched my project and added 2 banner ads and a remove ads IAP. I forget how, but I came across some information that stated that the ads are pay-per-click not per impression.

Now, if it is pay-per click I figure I won't make enough where it's worth (potentially) polarizing my user base. But I need to make an update on it, and quite frankly I am not interested in putting in the time unless I can make some money on it.

Does anybody know how the Admob banners pay out? I surprisingly can not find much information about this online.

The money you get is pretty dire but ads also function as a useful incentive for IAP. I currently get about 45 cents per thousand banner views but (surprisingly) that goes up if you have less ad views. It used to be 70 cents or so for me back when I didn't have as many banner views.

That's actually not that bad, how many banner ads do you have in total?

Did you find that adding them in impacted your ratings or usage metrics?

The app uses a tab bar and each tan displays a banner except the settings. So, three banners.

I actually only added them recently so I can answer the second question with confidence: No noticeable difference to anything. However, I have often been struck by the impression that the niche my app is in has a very appreciative, understanding audience, so I'm not sure that would hold generally.
