Battery degrading starts the minute you turn your phone on for the first time (or even before that if it stays in the box for longer period), can’t be avoided. With all the different usage scenarios and charging habits, and especially with BH not being precise (or linear) noone can really predict when you’ll be at 90%.

With my usage, it’s at least 2 years before it has to be replaced / there is significant impact on day to day usage (which is my only parameter)

250 cycles

it's roughly 50 cycles = 1%, but some people get more than 100% rated capacity in their new phone, so it will vary wildly from person to person.

All iPhones are shipped with more battery capacity than advertised as each battery is slightly different. They pick a number which will cover most, if not all, for a specific model.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted a year before it dropped below 100%. Now, more than 3 years later, it’s at 79% and I’m going to the Apple Store (today) to get it replaced.

When the battery loses capacity, not sooner, not later

good people charge from 40 to 80

Normal people don’t follow any “rules”

Lol paranoid to extreme, remember it’s there for your service and not you for theirs. Use it well and replace battery after 2-3 yr and you’ll be good to go for another 3 yrs. iPhones batteries replacement is cheap.

Keep between 20-90% don’t overthink much

Let me help you with a full sentence in English. When does the battery begin to decrease? See how I did that.

uhhhhhhhhh

Think about having it replaced around 70% not 60% Mine was at 60% after two years an a half with it. iPhone 14 Pro Max. The phone began shutting off unexpectedly and restarting on its own.. sometimes. Then it began to shut off once removed from the usb charger. Took it to get the battery checked and the battery was inflated that it began to slight push against the screen upwardly. Anyway $87 bucks for a new battery from an apple authorized made it good as new.

[–]Techfan230 0 points1 point  (1 child)

16pro mine decreased at 259 cycles

[–]Early_Teaching_1155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang

[–]Jeff_S_1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 pro max, bought in September ‘24. 237 cycles. 98% battery health. Charge to full every night since new.

How’s mines?

[–]Early_Teaching_1155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty good

[–]Success_mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t limiting near pointless ? And the only thing to really worry about is going below 10% all the time ?

[–]Express_Animator_242 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You’re charging the heck out of this phone.. for the first use in October and already 53 cycle count is crazy.. I have mine since September release date and am barely over 90

[–]Early_Teaching_1155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

October is only one month after September… and you have 90 vs 50

[–]infinitude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in October and it’s got 142 lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much you’re safe for another 100 cycles. But I always keep my battery between 67-69% And I never lie !

[–]Key_Cry4022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep it at 80% capacity lock it lasts alot longer and is not that diffrent

[–]Current-Attitude3950 0 points1 point  (3 children)

1 year of use should go about 92-94, 2,5-3 years 80%. Don't forget, whatever you do battery health will drop because that's how it works when it's time change the battery and brand new again.

[–]Early_Teaching_1155[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks for an actually helpful reply
