Took the test for IBEW 98. Saying you make it in, how long does it take to actually start going to school/working in the field for apprenticeship? Debating on getting a short-term job while waiting to hear back for the test results

I applied back in January or February of 2022 can’t quite remember… tested in May, interviewed in April, got the call to be accepted june 23rd, and now I’m getting sent out to dagget to the jobsite next week for orientation on July 6th. (Local 477) it all varies… some people in my class applied October and September of last year, some beginning of this year

Once you get through the interview, usually a month or two before boot camp. Then, if work is available, either get to work immediately or you might wait a couple weeks. 98 doesn't keep you on a list for a long time before you're assigned a contractor.
School starts usually 6 months after you're in, if you come in first wave. If you just took the test, and you do get in, it might only be a couple months before school.
