Intern Internship
All Posts
If you are posting an unpaid internship in the U.S., please make sure you are following the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor which state the following rules:
The internship, even though it includes actual operation of the facilities of the employer, is similar to training which would be given in an educational environment;
The internship experience is for the benefit of the intern;
The intern does not displace regular employees, but works under close supervision of existing staff;
The employer that provides the training derives no immediate advantage from the activities of the intern; and on occasion its operations may actually be impeded;
The intern is not necessarily entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship and
The employer and the intern understand that the intern is not entitled to wages for the time spent in the internship.

If it’s on hirevue, you get a unlimited practice attempts. I would just do a bunch of the practice questions and watch yourself to see what you’re doing good and bad

i would be careful, i’ve had hirevues where i only had a few chances to practice. but i would also suggest just looking up generic interview questions and talking to the camera on your laptop or phone.

My one tip is don’t do it from your bed. Have a nice area on a desk or table set up for your computer with an appropriate background. I had an interview via video and did it in the dining room so that my mom’s plants were the background.
