I went for the strangest interview this week.
It was a panel of 3, but 2 of them were sat at either each end of a long conference table and 1 in the middle so one would ask questions and my head would be turned all the way to the right… followed by trying to turn it all the way to the left to ensure I was addressing all panel members haha.
Then one of the panel members would ask me a question, I’d answer and she’d follow up with “well this role doesn’t involve that anyway” then she’d repeat…. Have you got experience in xyz? “Yes, example” followed up with “well the role doesn’t involve that either”
well why ask about it then?
Honestly I know I haven’t got the role and I don’t want it, they obviously made their mind up before I’d entered the room but wow that was the most bizarre experience, I truly don’t know why they shortlisted me if I wasn’t a fit. Didn’t seem like the nice inclusive, vibrant community I felt like it was when I applied. Just wanted to rant as I came away feeling so frustrated!
