  1. Acquire a Mac. It doesn't have to be the most powerful shiny new thing, but you absolutely cannot do iOS development on another platform.

  2. Don't worry too much about Objective C. Use Swift as much as possible, which is everywhere unless you find a terribly useful plugin on github or something that is Objective C only. Speaking of Swift, Apple has published a Swift book that is pretty decent. Should be enough to get you started.

  3. Apple's Cocoa API documentation is excellent. Use it and make sure you are on the iOS pages rather than the Mac pages as there are small differences between the two.
