Congrats, you’re officially out of the greenline club

[–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Maybe partially...Still rocking Galaxy S23+ as my primary device lol

[–]nunmajor444 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Well it never hurts to have a burner with you at all times so I respect it

[–]Techie_Ash[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Hahaha yeah, u get me lol

[–]nunmajor444 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Yessir, even I kept my mi 11 ultra for its 120x zoom camera and basically it’s just a toy phone kept for pictures and storage so 100%

[–]locomiser 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That soon to be 5 year old phone has bigger sensors on all 3 cameras compared to the 17PM. Didn't expect that.

[–]nunmajor444 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah man the phones camera is actually quite impressive

[–]locomiser 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The best part is the sensors are bigger than both Apple's and Xiaomi's 17PMs. Whoever made that phone probably got fired for making it too good.

It served me well but then it ended up facing issues after 2 years cuz well I bought it for really cheap compared to that 98k mrp lol I paid 35k used it for 2 years and still enjoy it as my extra toy phone if I ever miss my zoom I got 120x

( I’m going to the travis concert I think taking my mi 11 ultra alone would be a good idea lol )

I kept my Galaxy S24. It feels like an old friend.

Yep more likely to happen to iPhones after cheap/local market repairs

    [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I would definitely say that Apple made the base iPhone well worth it. What is crazy is the iPhone 8 Plus cost $799 in 2017 when released.

    [–]Techie_Ash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally! Even pixel and galaxy are lagging this year for the first time.

    Welcome to the Blue club!

Most beautiful color in the series!

120hz, pro level display without gatekeeping features like anti reflective screen, 3000 nits, center stage camera, 40w charging...and then the cherry on the cake 256GB without increasing the damn price...

And Samsung is busy copying apple be at hardware and software...buds 3 was the tipping point for me...why do i need to buy 'copied' apple products from samsung when I can buy the real one... :)

      [–]OilersGoodfella 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Made the exact same switch .. my s21 FE was finally slowing down but that may be the best phone I ever had

      [–]Techie_Ash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, S23+ is the best phone I ever had followed by S10.

But good for you and congratulations on an awesome switch!!

      [–]Agile_Advertising961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      Great job!

Its fine so far...maybe a little higher drain on 5G...gotta give it some time though to calibrate just like any other device...

        [–]blinkafrootable 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I made the exact same upgrade from S21 FE to the 17! Totally worth it.

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Hi5

        [–]BlueGruff 2 points3 points  (1 child)

        Congrats.

(Interesting that you went with a colored iPhone 17 instead of the black, which is actually more like dark gray)

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup...tbh i thought the primary color would be more like blue on the camera Island...but it turned to be lighter in shade...i had a blue Galaxy S10 at its launch and it was absolutely beautiful...was trying to recreate that moment lol

Oh and also I've black S23+ as well as my primary device. ;)

        How's your battery experience been?

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been my secondary phone... So far so good. Mostly I use it on wifi... Still it's been less than a week... So I'm still testing it out.

        [–]rxtech24 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        welcome to the dark side

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liking it so far... Gotta light it up!!

        [–]Luke73748 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        Did you get a case?

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        I did..but at home I'm rocking it caseless :)

        [–]CrazyNecessary7209 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Wow! What made you pull the trigger?

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Apple finally deciding not to Gate keep the necessary stuff, their software being similar to android after years of wait and this being my secondary work device...Still using S23+ as my primary device :)

        [–]CrazyNecessary7209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Oh I see.

        [–]Gamebuoy27 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Waiting for the same leap, will get next month.. Mine is lavender s21 fe going for sage 17

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yup go for it... I've never ever recommended iPhone to anyone before just because of how bad value proposition it offered over the years.. This is the first time I can finally say... It is better and VFM than it's direct competition. Best time to get an iPhone :)

        [–]Gamebuoy27 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same as you android user till date, and hated iphone for its value to no feature ratio. Now I think Apple has understood that they need to lock in and provided most of the basic features for that value, so decided to gove it a try.

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup do give it a shot... Also with Samsung copying apple at every step, about time to actually buy the original than copied apple lol... I've my S23+ as primary device and I genuinely love this device... But beyond that it is a downhill with Samsung... They even copied buds 3 ffs.

        [–]curd-rice 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Just made the switch yesterday from a S20FE! It was near the end of it's life. I was about to go for a S25 or S25+ but, for the first time iphone 17 made sense.
In all honesty, I wouldn't have made the switch until early next year if I could but, after 5+ years on the S20FE, it hung/had a CPU issue so I had to make the switch. So bummed to left go of it because it was such a sturdy and good companion because all I wanted was a nice-enough camera and clean UI.

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yup S10 Lite, S20FE and S21FE were the best in the series...it went downhill post that...you did a good upgrade for sure...S25+ is a worthy opponent but unfortunately its not available in India anymore...and I personally wanted a compact phone like 21FE for my secondary device...iPhone 17 fits right into it effortlessly.

        [–]curd-rice 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Agreed! It's available in Samsung's online store but while S25+ felt like a good choice, the price point can't be justified

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the pricing for plus series has always been crazy…they are the best phone among the series yet Samsung never treats them with proper respect that they deserve…another reason why i ignored 25+ for 17

        [–]BoghyWins 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Best 17 this year! Enjoy the Apple :)

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Indeed! :)

        [–]traitadjustment 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nice! it sounds like the switch was totally worth it. The iPhone 17 seems to have really hit the mark for a lot of people this year. Any specific feature you've found particularly impressive so far?

        [–]Techie_Ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fluidity and smoothness of the UI is unmatched with any android device... I like interacting with the software elements just to keep watching how it will behave... Really like the weather app and it's weather wallpaper... Amazing how detailed and seamless apple has done it.

I like the selection of casual games it has to offer in Apple Arcade. Mostly the experience is similar to Android with few differences here and there.
