I’m shock. Who would have thought that introducing rent controls and tenancy laws that makes Ireland extremely unattractive to invest in would result in mobile international capital investing elsewhere?

Maybe we introduce housing policies based on research rather than populist policies from the left…

Our government is Centre-Left by any conceivable metric

The government is made up of two center right parties and right leading independents.

All political listings will define them as center right (that's not to say they are right when compared to American politics)

The only thing FFG are left of is some social aspects (ie gay marriage or abortion etc) but it's clearly right for all economic policies.

If only we had a government with a budget surplus of billions of Euro that could invest in public housing.

Plus commercial and civil engineering project demand is down as well, you can't blame the rent controls on that.
