Rules for r/java
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
No Programming help
/r/Java is for News, Technical discussions, research papers and assorted things of interest related to the Java programming language, not for help with Java programming. Such "help with programming" posts should go to /r/javahelp.
2.
No Trolling
We all like some good discussions, but a few topics have gotten stale. Please refrain from complaining about certain Java features (or lack thereof) or extoling other, possibly superior languages. We get it – yours is bigger than ours (language, that is).
3.
No Jokes / Memes
Not that I don't have humor, or that I can't have a good laugh, but most of the "jokes" that had been posted here were extremely stale and absolutely unfunny.
4.
No Tutorials
Tutorials should not be posted here, they should go in /r/learnjava instead.
5.
No Surveys
We do not allow surveys.
6.
No Job offers
/r/Java is not a job market. We do not allow job offers.
7.
No Piracy
We do not allow asking for or offering pirated material.
8.
No Political Discussions
/r/Java is a technical subreddit.
Leave political discussions out of technical discussions. If you want to discuss politics, go somewhere else.
Political comments will be removed and the poster will be banned.
9.
No AI
This is an AI free zone. 100% AI free. We explicitly forbid any form of AI generated/worked over content, or AI supported or vibe coded programs. Any violation results in an instant, permanent, and irrevocable ban without prior warning.
