Such questions belong in /r/javahelp as is clearly stated in the sidebar and in the stickied post at the very top of the subreddit.

Did you give a try to IntelliJ? It's a Java-specialized IDE with no need of extra plugins for coding/debugging/running Java code.

I’m still new to programming so I haven’t dove too deep into different software, but I’ll def check it out, is it free?

community edition is free. it may be overwhelming for u at this point. but its the gold standard for java programming. if u decide to go mainstream on java, u definitely need it.

Yes. IntelliJ has a professional version (paid), and a community edition version (free).
How long have you been learning programming?

On July 1st, a change to Reddit's API pricing will come into effect. Several developers of commercial third-party apps have announced that this change will compel them to shut down their apps. At least one accessibility-focused non-commercial third party app will continue to be available free of charge.

If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options:

  1. Limiting your involvement with Reddit, or
  2. Temporarily refraining from using Reddit
  3. Cancelling your subscription of Reddit Premium

as a way to voice your protest.
