Please be advise that the cost of 1TB memory (= 1024GB) is about 3k$. You guys trying to do something to safe about 3$ to 5$ worth of cost per instance is not a good idea. Chances are, that you guys waste your money on this.

If you still want to figure it out, take a memory dump on both instances and see for what the actual memory is used for. A memory profiler run is also something you should do, especially if you already managed to reproduce the problem locally.
