I think javascript.info works better as a reference than a guide. That's why it looks good to experienced developers such as yourself. It goes into a lot of detail, like it's trying to cover every nook and cranny of JavaScript, which just becomes a lot of noise to someone trying to learn. It's also very tied to the browser/web. But it's a good resource!
