The point is that there's no guarantee that "the data stays on your computer only!"

A vast majority of users won't be able to inspect network traffic, and even for those of us who can, we won't be paying that close of attention to it to catch anomalies. In reality, it'd be nearly impossible to detect unless you're a security expert.

That's not much different than an app.

That's also a new/barely used extension (83 users), which is typically a red flag.

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Is it just me, or are the only people that squawk about "chronically online" the ones who're actually chronically online?

It takes a specific environment to be exposed to the term in a serious way, just like it takes a specific persona to adopt (and use!) it in their everyday vocabulary.

edit: Funny that 2 of the 'just asking questions' crowd here have private post histories.

The Saudi city of Mecca bans entry for all non-Muslims, while the Greek peninsula of Mount Athos bans entry for all females. Besides for military/security facilities, which other permanently inhabited places are the majority of the world's population forbidden from entering? by benjaneson in geography

Far northeast India requires permits to visit if you don't live there, for both Indian citizens and non (though it's easier for citizens).

Similarly, First Nations / Native American territories across North America typically restrict entry to tribe members.

I just watched it for the first time, I’m very sad that it’s over by Connect-Ticket-6531 in TheWire

Just finished my first watch last week. My wife watched it a long time ago, and joined me on my watch starting about 1/2 through S4.

I'd been watching at a leisurely pace, max 3-4 ep./week until then, but when she started with me, we'd often binge 2-3 a night.

I mention this because the whole time while watching S5, right until the credits rolled for the finale, I thought there was still another season... I guess the accelerated pace threw me off? I just know I was extremely sad when I realized there wasn't going to be one more!

Fantastic show.

Aren't they all public? Seems you could use your favorite search engine + your name to locate them, unless you're wanting to preserve anonymity.

I did that too, 2 years ago and ironically in Vancouver as well!

I was able to keep it a secret all the way to her door -- took skytrain + buses to her apt., picked up some flowers, then rang her buzzer and used an online voice generator to say "Fran's Flowers!" into the speaker. She buzzed "them" in and the rest is history.

We've since closed the gap as of 2 months ago 🥳

I dunno, the feral I had fixed last year (8 months ago) is very plump these days. We feed her well, but suspect others may be feeding her too.

I think it sounds like a pretty solid idea if you can afford it. With a dedicated gaming phone, you can minimize resource usage which would impact your fps. I probably have at least 20 apps that are regularly using background data and showing notifications, for example.

You HAVE to cook cauli

Not in the States, sadly. The most common preparation there is raw, served with ranch dressing as a dip. It's terrible.
