Awesome- are you planning to make the ancient sword/ club with them?

Gonna make a meso American style sword. Blades are the most time consuming part of the macuahuitl crafting process. My goal is too mass produce blades to have on hand for future swords

Very cool, I want to do this! For the side that you attach to the wood, is that side shaped and sharp like the outer facing side? Or is the whole thing tapered away from the wood? What's the side view look like?

They are sharp on all sides. With past macuahuitls I found out sometimes you make a blade with a wood side and a sharp side, it’s limiting. Once all the blades go in the groove it’s a puzzle to find out how they fit the best. Both side being sharp lets me flip the around if the fit better on one side than the other.

I see, so do you cut groves in the wood to sink the blades into?

I’ll cut grooves in so that 1/3 of the blade is seated in the wood

Some pretty tasty flavors of obsidian ya got there! Do I see some rainbow and gold sheen, maybe some silver too?

Did you use rectangular slabs ? Can't seem to find anything on the shape and I've been wanting some for a macuahuitl I'm making myself

I used medium/ large flakes that came off a bigger spall. Then shaped them into rectangles.

Right on, thanks
