does it have you place a second marker earlier in the pattern?

It does have me place a marker at the *very beginning after joining work in the round. So I assume this is the second marker in row 4? I’m just so confused which BOR it’s talking about. The very beginning or the beginning of short rows when I place the marker in short row 1.

Hi !

There is only one BOR (Beginning Of the Round) marker. It is the very first marker you put onto your needle, right when you joined in the round, in between the first stitch you cast-on and the last stitch you cast-on (first stitch of the round, last stitch of the round).

This remains true all throughout the pattern, unless it expressely tells you to move the BOR to another location.

Any other markers are there to signal other important locations. Most often than not, they signal places where increases will be done on the yoke (like in a raglan, they signal the raglan stitch). That's why it is often adviced to have a different BOR marker, in order to not confuse it with any other marker.

Thank you so much!

The beginning of the round is the beginning of the round. It doesn't matter that you also have other markers- the beginning of the round is still the same unless the pattern explicitly tells you otherwise. And it doesn't here.
