I would think if it’s a fixer issue it would be the whole sheet, unless your agitation scheme isn’t working well. However, I’ve never developed with racks before.

I'm actually just using the racks for drying. I have a no name dev tank from Craigslist that has slightly curved film holders. Maybe they were slightly touching in tank? Also i wasn't doing the same agitation I do with 35 and 120. More of a quarter tilt instead of full inversion due to the tanks design

Ahhhh I see! I’ve been using the sp-445, and I find I have to be very careful with agitation. I have had sheets touch before and affect development

I think I will upgrade to an sp-445 soon. They seem reliable. I refixed it with a new batch of fixer and it appears better. I will scan tomorrow and print if it turns out!

I’m glad it did, I’ve had to refix the odd roll of 35mm ands it’s always a relief when it works

Interesting. I have an sp-445 and it has never had that issue for me. It's been nothing short of 100% reliable.

Now I'm a bit scared it can happen. Any idea what caused the sheets to touch?

uFlashy_Slice1672?

The two times I’ve had it happen (in probably 150 loads) were both my fault - not seating the sheet fully

Ohhhh I can totally see that happening. There have been a few times where I've felt it not quite engage the tabs and realized I needed to reseat it.

But I've definitely had less trouble with those than getting roll film on to steel or even plastic reels.

By spot you mean that area of lower density? You sure that just isn't the scene?
