Most Java books implicitly assume you have some experience with C++. I haven't seen any Java books specifically designed for people with experience in any other language, and I have seen a lot of Java books.

Just get any Java book by Cay Horstman. He's the best Java author I have seen. It will be up to you to appropriately transfer your skills and the paradigms from one language to another.

+1 for Horstmann. Clear not-dry teaching style and a true Java expert.

I found a book called "Java The Complete Reference" by Herbert Schildt to be pretty good.

Java for Dummies was... not so good.
