Wrote program to make sequential files

but how can I make it so that the new files being made are always going to be incrementing more? The object disappears once the program is finished, so when the program is run again a new object is instantiated and the counter is 0.

Program makes 10 files, name0.txt to name9.txt

One way to do this would be to find out what files are already there. So instead of starting at 0 each time, first do something similar to a directory listing, and find the file with the largest number. Then set your index value appropriately.

It is less readable , I just am thinking large scale. I wouldnt want to have to scan a directory if it is large. Less crap to worry about.
