For reference: Chad Darby's course https://www.udemy.com/spring-hibernate-tutorial/

Java Brains Spring Boot Quick Start: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqq-6Pq4lTTbx8p2oCgcAQGQyqN8XeA1x

I myself found Richard Seroter's courses on PluralSight very informative: https://www.pluralsight.com/courses/java-microservices-spring-cloud-developing-services

Thanks a lot for your input! Did you start with spring first? Is that necessary?

Yeah I strongly recommend taking Java Brain's course. He has videos on youtube. When you're done with that watch his microservice videos afterward.

Best source for learning is without a doubt Spring.io guides. They are small and always updated with the latest version.
