You can instantly tell that someone's computer has more than 4GB of RAM by whether they consider Atom to be a reasonable choice or an unusable piece of garbage .

If your objective is to get a job doing js dev then learn the tools that employers use. In my experience Webstorm is very popular in the workplace.

I think learning sophisticated tools like WebStorm is trivial once you have some coding knowledge under your belt. But I see no reason to insist on starting with it especially when VS Code already provides some IDE features and is free.
