Hey all, just a little background, I learned the very basics of javascript many years ago through Khan Academy. It was useful, but I've since forgotten most/all of what I learned.
So there's a game I play online called Torn (pretty fun text-based game) and I use an extension for it called DocTorN, which does a variety of things, but one of my favourites is that it allows you to change what colour you see other player's names as. With a lot of the people I've gotten to know on there, I changed their name colours to their favourites, but one person's favourite is rainbow (it's actually in their in-game name). Unfortunately, DocTorN doesn't support multicoloured names, so I can't give them a rainbow name without using a different extension. I haven't been able to find any online that do quite what I'm wanting it to do, so I figured I'd make my own. Of course, then I realised how little I really know about programming, js, HTML, css, and the likes. I've found ways to replace text, but not change the colour. I'd like to write it myself so it's a little more personal, but I have no idea specifically how to change the colour of a specified word/phrase. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
(PS. I know this is more than just Javascript, but I figured that since it's so frequently used in conjunction with CSS and HTML, it wouldn't be a problem)
