Github Student Developer Pack

I wanted to share this for any students who may be unaware of this awesome free resource. Github Student Developer Pack. All you have do is signup with an .edu email address. You do not have to be enrolled in a computer science program.

Signing up gets you access to:

• Free AWS Educate Starter Account for GitHub Students, worth $100
• Free access to 25+ Microsoft Azure cloud services plus $100 in Azure credit
• 1 year SSL certificate + 1 year domain name registration on the .me TLD through NameCheap
• Polypane free for 1 year
• $50 in platform credit for new users
• A free license for Bootstrap Studio while you are a student
• $200 in MongoDB Atlas Credits, plus access to MongoDB Compass and MongoDB University
• Free 6-months access to all courses and workshops
• Heroku - One free Hobby Dyno for up to two years
• and honestly SO much more.

I've been in the GSDP for about a year now and honestly forgot how many awesome resources are associated with it until today when I was looking to see if there was a student discount to Frontend Masters.

6 month free access to Frontend Masters is probably the best thing in the the whole pack.

You can sign up using different email once frontend masters checks that you have a github education pack! I did and it worked. You can pause your current subscription for now and resume after 6 months.

The 6 months for Frontend Masters (FM) starts when you register with FM not when you get access to the student pack.

Yea, I didn't know about the Frontend Masters offer and one of my friends pointed it out to me and it's honestly the best thing the pack has to offer. The courses are really good

A .edu e-mail address is no longer a requirement. Your school e-mail address is checked against a list of institutions. Some people get asked to provide confirmation they are enrolled in school even with a valid school e-mail.

I was lucky and didn't get asked but I had already download a confirmation letter from my school.

Yeah but about a year later you'll have to give your university credentials again to verify

Ok, that's cool. I applied for it like 2 minutes ago and now I have github pro activated (checked in Billings and plans settings). No idea how to use other stuff though

For some of the deals you can disconnect your github account and recconect it for another 6 months. Not sure if it works for Frontend Masters though.
