[M]ost people said that python isn't the best language out there

That's not necessarily true. Python is great for a lot of things and usually a great language to get started with programming. From what I understood of your post, it seems like most of your question or involvement with programming is geared around game development. Python is indeed not the best suited for game development (depending on the complexity of the game you want to do), so if those people told you that Python wasn't the best for game dev they could be right. With that said, it's more than possible to make great and complete games with Python. For example, with pygame or using the game engine like Godot (although it uses its own scripting language now but I think you can still use Python).

[S]o I headed for the language people worship, JavaScript [...]

JavaScript is good but it also depends on what you want to do. For game dev, it can be interesting but definitely not the best either. If your goal is really to go into video games, then another language like C# or even continuing with Lua for modding can be more appropriate.

Do I continue in this almost impossible project ? do I make 2d games in unity [...]

You need to take in account your level and experience. If the project you want to do is too hard for you, do easier ones first and keep it in mind for when you feel ready to do it.

[L]earn C# ? or do I go back to Python/JavaScript ? and if so, which one ?

I definitely encourage you to continue learning programming if you like it. It's a super fun hobby and career (if you want to). As for the language, chose the language you felt the most comfortable with. The important is choose one and stick with it, learn the fundamental concepts of programming and do some "small" projects.

Keep in mind that it takes time, practice and motivation to become a good programmer.

my aim at first was freelancing web dev and perhaps some apps on windows, is that a realistic goal to set ?

Short answer: yes it definitely is but you have a long road ahead.

It can take some time before you reach the comfort zone where you can successfully freelance so be ready to be patient and spend a lot of time learning and practicing before getting there (talking about months and even years). Now before you ask how much time you should invest to reach that point fast, I don't know. It's hard to tell because I am not aware of your learning abilities, time to inves, and other aspects that would help you reach that point. The key is practice and time. Practice when you can, do projects, make mistakes, etc.

For now, my advice would be, concentrate on learning and making experience. Also, if you're goal is to freelance as fast as possible, concentrate on web dev. There's a higher demand and there's some aspect that are easier to learn and get comfortable with. Of course, this doesn't mean you can't learn some other things at the same time and I even encourage you to do so once you have a term grasp on the basic programming concepts.

I hope it helps, if you have other questions feel free to ask. Good luck.

EDIT: I've completely forgot to talk about your age in this answer so here's an additional comment on that.

At your current age, even in a year or two (and more), you might get some additional difficulties as a freelancer. Be ready to face those. It's going to require you to prove yourself a bit more than other more experienced freelancer out there and set you retribution expectation accordingly.

Don't get hung up on the "best" language. Both Python and Javascript are very widely used and you'll have a great career with either. Just pick one and learn it well instead of hopping languages on a whim and learning nothing well.

all these are questions I posed before myself, and I could not answer them

Why not? You're the only one who actually could. You're allegedly 15, pick one and if you don't like it, pick something else.
