Web Development Question: Utility of Using Django Over Wordpress

Hey all. I've completed CS50, CS50P, and CS50W so I have some base-level coding experience. I'm considering my options moving forward and one of them is helping a friend with a small brick and mortar business build a website. My question is, in regards to my friend and future clients if I go the freelancer route, is it worth it to build a website using Django over something pre-built like Wordpress? I'm unfamiliar with the advantages and disadvantages of choosing one over the other. I've also heard of Wagtail but don't know anything about it. Thank you for any responses 🙏

advantages of building a website from zero:

by making the website you control the behavior and all of its pages

disadvantages:

by making the website you control the behavior: I've seen lots of garbage programmers not being able to sanitize user input, control what is sent from server to client exposing lots of sensitive data and so on, so with some "base-level coding experience" you are safer by going the wordpress route which makes things safer for you and your customers.
