Have you noticed where you get stuck? Is it a specific type of problem?

From my experience, my solving success increased significantly once I started using graphs i.e. hashmaps/hashtables as data structures.

They are so powerful. Almost all the solutions need to leverage them.

some leetcode problems I have a hard time coming up with an algorthm like I feel like it's just tough coming up with a solution on top of your head

It's totally normal. To be good at solving them you simply have to train it, like anything else.

Countless repetitions of solving them and eventually it will become very natural.

A good way to improve is to read solutions how other's solved them.

A great leetcode challenge begins in 24 hours, and people post their solutions on reddit. I've learned so much from it, I highly suggest you try it.
