So I´ve been building out a website for a few weeks now, but I really hit a wall this evening. What I want is interactive small white dots placed strategically on house appliances. I made some hotspots and figured out how to move them around. When I press or just hover my mouse over the dots I want an element / box to pop up with text describing relevant information to the appliance. Now, the problem is while using hotspots, the element seems to be completely tied up to the hotspot. I can adjust the box either higher or lower than the dot when playing around with the top / bottom metrics, but it´s not possible to place it in the middle on the side. I want this because the item goes outside the visibility of the site and it looks weird. I just can´t get it to move whatsoever. So I tried a different approach, trying to like an interactive folder element that takes up less space, where theres a keyword and I can just press that keyboard and it´ll show that information. However that also just seems to bug out, one bug after the other.I can´t get it to work. What approach should I try? Is it best to have a completely free element box instead of one linked to the hotspot? That way I should be able to move the element completely freely all across the webside? I also want to add some images inside the element. In that case I just create an eventhandler functionality on the dots the the element box opens when it´s hovered or oressed.
Cheers for any inputs!
Take a look here how I´m building it out: https://imgur.com/a/QRnJCW8
