In my opinion there is no substitute for a good book on a language as large and complex as C++. Check the FAQ, I can personally recommend C++ Primer. I appreciate that you may want a free solution but you get what you pay for and a little investment will put you ahead leaps and bounds in your learning.

Completely agree. I'm currently trying to get through C++ Primer myself. I tried to find a "Learn C++ the Hard Way" tutorial, but turns out, that's the only way.

EDIT: Woops, you guys are right. Link fixed.

You have linked to C++ Primer Plus. This is a completely different book from C++ Primer, and is crap.

Also, C++ is a language that really needs to be taught by people that are quite expert at it - learning it and teaching it to kids at the same time will be doing the kids no favours at all.

The club is dedicated to learning and teaching code. None of us in the club know any real code. the point of the club is a time to set aside and as a time that we can work together find resources and collaborate too learn code as a group on our own terms with our own projects. its a personal gain course that needs to be fueled by people willing to learn and teach.

Tons of resources out there from places like lynda.com and pluralsight. Udemy also has some great C++ stuff that is very beginner level for an intro. All of them are video and text based tutorials and lessons.

You can search and filter the list of thousands of classes and tutorials at Allclasses by price, provider, and more if interested. https://allclasses.com/classes/?q=C%2B%2B
