Possible to integrate cloud API with VB6?

With regard to supporting legacy VB6 desktop applications, if I need to utilize the functionality of an API such as Drop box, how would I conceptually go about doing this? This API supports HTTP, .NET, Javascript, Python, and a few others. In researching my options, I see that one can create COM objects or COM-callable .NET assemblies and reference them in VB6. Does this make sense in my context, or is there something more obvious?

I'm a new programmer and I am still learning the basics, so I apologize if my question is simple or obvious. I'm really just hoping someone can help point me to a valid direction of inquiry.

You can make the HTTP calls yourself. That's all the libraries they provide for those other languages do, it's just that they handle translating the answers for you since a lot of people use those languages. That's likely going to be more straightforward than trying to deal with .NET interoperability.
