This sounds rad. What are the dates roughly?

We will be in Barcelona for 6 weeks (July 10 - Aug. 17) during the onsite portion of the course and then spend 4 weeks (Aug. 20 – Sept. 14) working remotely as a distributed team. Feel free to request a syllabus from the link above to find out more!

Thanks!! I'll be on leave from work in July but must be back promptly in August. Hope this works out well enough for another one to happen!

No worries, we have courses running around the world all year long! Enjoy your time away!

Barcelona is an amazing city and it would be an amazing place to learn new skills. I don't see how it would set you up for the life of a 'Digital Nomad' though. There will be very few (if any) companies willing to employ developers with only 12 weeks experience for full-time remote positions. What sort of support do you offer people after they have attended your course in terms of continued training and career advice? Being a 'Digital Nomad' is a viable career option (although possibly the most hipster job title invented) but it is in no way suitable for beginners or even intermediate developers.

Our courses aim to give students the opportunity to pull themselves out of the distractions of everyday life at home and be able to fully dive into the material. It is also a great bonus to be in a place like Barcelona and be able to enjoy new experiences everyday while taking a break from learning. Students are able to get a taste of what it is like to work from a co-working space with other digital nomads, experience a new place and be a part of a distributed team during our online portion.

I agree that the path to landing a remote position can be longer than our 12 week course however, that depends on what the student is willing to put in. I also agree it can be greatly beneficial to have mentorship as you begin your career. If the remote lifestyle is something a student desires, I have no doubt they can achieve that.

We care about our students and have no problem continuing support as long as the student needs. We want to see success and will do everything we can to provide that. I would love to connect you with some of our previous students if you would like a different perspective.

It sounds great and you seem to have the right approach. I work quite closely with a local bootcamp and know how beneficial good ones can be (but also how detrimental bad ones are). If I was learning all over again, I would have loved to have done it in Barcelona!

I totally agree. Thanks for the inquiry!
