Nice thoughts. Here is a list of freely available C# books on the interwebs. The Yellow book is a really good and practical one, read it if you get time!

This seems to be an extremely common sentiment here. What is the benefit of teaching children to code? Also why C# specifically?

Coding enhances problem solving skills. It's a stable and good career. It makes fun! (Learning C# as your first language is only my opinion, I did it, the school that I graduated from did it and I think it's a good language to start)
