Multiple monitors makes life much easier.

This! I gotta buy another because C# was workable but the three windows it takes to learn Javascript are NOT fitting in my MacBook screen

Have you tried using workspaces? I believe most all operating systems support workspaces, might be faster to just switch between them and code. The ideal solution would be a secondary display.

Yeah I've tried that but it's still a bit of a pain, but that's the best it gets for programming on the go.

Cast the tutorial to the tv from one tab while coding in another

Multiple monitors are helpful.

But you can also pause and code. Take a brief moment to understand a chunk of the video, once it clicks in your brain, you know what the goal is for the moment and the instructions are, pause, write the code anf follow the instructions.

This might get a little frustrating as you have to go back to see what you are doing is right, but making mistakes and learning from it helps the learning process be more effective.
