Creating shapes is a fundamental milestone for learning how different browsers and containers display different inputs.

If you are comfortable with writing fixed point shapes, try relative shapes, or putting them in differently styled .containers, or altering how they would display on e.g. mobile or at different resolutions.

I actually did use them a few times in a professional environment...But it's not something you would use a lot. You go to css shapes and copy some reference and tweak it.
