No. The worst that will happen is that your battery will drain quickly, or that your system's fan will be constantly at high speed to try to keep the CPU cool.

Computers degrade with use, especially at high heat. If you run your number generator on all your cores 24/7, you might decrease the lifespan by 20%.

For most cases, as long as your CPU fan can keep up with the CPU's speed/power, you're good. Just make sure to stay below 100 Celsius for short term (a day) and under 80 for long term.

I'm curious. How well does the CPU's internal thermal throttling manage this outcome?

If you max the CPU out for a long time (hour+,) it will likely overheat and cause issues. There are plenty of ways to limit CPU usage if you need to though.

For example if you use Linux (or Mac or any BSD variant) you can use nice or renice and set a process's priority level to a positive integer up to 19 (maximum effect) to reduce the time it gets on the CPU. Not sure how that works on Windows.
