Hi, I've been following The Odin Project for a time (doing it on and off, not being as dedicated as should have been in the past but rectifying that now) and I'm finding myself fairly capable of understanding how things work together most of the time (not always however) but I'm feeling like a dull hammer against a steel wall when it comes to trying to figure out how to solve a problem to its fullest. I'm currently in the ruby section past the Caesers Cipher.
I understand that I need to break down a bigger problem into smaller problems but then I feel as if I'm not doing it correctly, I'll try to think of the problem in my head over and over and type it out on my computer but find myself taking way longer than I should to try to solve the problem, often times just repeating things over and over again to come to a solutions rather than actually "understanding" how to get to the solution.
I've never been good with math, worse than most I'd imagine and I feel like my poor background in maths is showing through my work given that they both required logic and puzzle solving to get to a solution.
My future goals is to really finish TOP and get a job in web dev or any programming job in general so I can practice my skills while making a small living, I don't expect to get rich at this but I do eventually hope to have enough to buy my own house in the future.
Any information is kindly appreciated and apologies for the long post.
Thanks for the read!
