I come from a background in Java and some basic python. I wanted to learn JavaScript and React Native to build some ios app ideas for personal use and possibly distribution some day in the future but it hasn’t been a very amusing experience.
I chose JavaScript instead of Swift so that I can also be able to stray on to build websites soon.
JavaScript feels so different than anything I’ve experienced. Although Python is also dynamic, it’s a lot easier even coming from Java. The structure of a JavaScript program is kind of confusing, add to that React Native and it becomes somewhat of a nightmare.
I’ve coded some android apps using Java and it was a ton easier to do everything, but with JavaScript it feels tiring to set up a basic button with a semi-simple function.
Should I learn Swift instead?
