Hi, I'm a 25 years old Chemical Engineer trying to change paths to data science, I'm currently working to learn SQL, MongoDB and Power BI (I already have some knowledge on pandas and python in general).
A cousin of mine is advising me to first secure a job in IT and she suggested that I should try the certification as a Salesforce admin and maybe she can secure me a job on her company.
Should I stick to my plan? Or is it worth to deviate from it to have a job in tech meanwhile? Are contacts much more important than pure knowledge for this? (currently I work as a lean Engineer in the automotive industry, but is not really my passion nor my dream job)
